Shredded (Fine) Recycled Polypropylene (PP #5) 1 kg
This is recycled material, sorted by dominant general color, and each package may have minor variations including inks and bits of errant color.
Using Precious Plastics machinery, we collect and process local plastic waste. We focus on types and shapes of plastic that are problems for the regular curbside recycling system in our community, and would otherwise go to landfill. After separating plastics by type and color, we run them twice through our Precious Plastic Pro shredder.
Polypropylene (PP) has the #5 recycling symbol, and is used in a diverse range of consumer goods from medicine vials to storage bins. The diversity of size and shape often presents a challenge for single-stream recycling programs, and as a result a lot of PP that could be recycled winds up going to landfill or incineration.
Notes on some variations:
Amber: Transparent amber polypropylene, finely shredded. Excellent melting and flow, suitable for injection molding. We collect, rinse, and shred medicine vials from local pharmacists who would otherwise dispose of them in the trash.
Mostly White: White plastic with printing, including things like caps and lids, dairy tubs, and so forth. It is overwhelmingly white but has speckles of random colors spread throughout.
