This is recycled material, sorted by dominant general color, and each package may have minor variations including inks and bits of errant color.

Using Precious Plastics machinery, we collect and process local plastic waste. We focus on types and shapes of plastic that are problems for the regular curbside recycling system in our community, and would otherwise go to landfill. After separating plastics by type and color, we run them twice through our Precious Plastic Pro shredder.

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) has the #2 recycling symbol, and is used in a diverse range of consumer goods such as milk jugs, containers, caps/lids,  toys, and much more. The diversity of size and shape often presents a challenge for single-stream recycling programs, and as a result a lot of HDPE that could be recycled winds up going to landfill or incineration.
