Shredded (Coarse) Recycled Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE #4) 1 kg
This is recycled material, sorted by dominant general color, and each package may have minor variations including inks and bits of errant color.
Using Precious Plastics machinery, we collect and process local plastic waste. We focus on types and shapes of plastic that are problems for the regular curbside recycling system in our community, and would otherwise go to landfill. After separating plastics by type and color, we run them twice through our Precious Plastic Pro shredder.
Low Density Polyethylene (HDPE) has the #4 recycling symbol, and is used in a diverse range of consumer goods including some caps, lids, containers, bags, plastic wrap, toys, and more. Although it is the same basic chemical as HDPE, the different branching structure of LDPE molecules gives it different characteristics, such as greater flexibility. The size and shape of LDPE objects often present a challenge for single-stream recycling programs, and many recycling programs simply don't accept this plastic at all. As a result a vast amoung of LDPE that could be recycled goes to landfill or incineration.
